Planning a funeral ceremony or memorial service for our loved ones creates an opportunity to create a special farewell, one that celebrates their life and mourns the loss of your family member. Whilst you are dealing with your own grief, there are so many decisions to be made in such a short timeframe. It’s not surprising that you may feel somewhat overwhelmed.

Life Tree Celebrants specialises in working together with you to create a unique ceremony that truly reflects your loved one. There are lots of options and no hard and fast rules. What is most important is that the service reflects the individual in a way that you, your family & friends knew them. For some, a more traditional service with some religious content, such as a prayer or reading, is comforting. Whilst for others, a unique funeral with many special ‘touches’ may fit the flamboyant and eccentric personality of their loved one! At the end of the day, it’s important for everyone at the funeral to know that the service truly is a reflection of their loved one... not a ‘script’ about someone else!

As Professional Celebrants, Helen and Kali will visit your family in your own home, hear your stories about your loved one’s life, and craft a ceremony that is personalised, authentic and appropriate. Working together with you, Life Tree Celebrants will help to create a meaningful and respectful ceremony. You may have thoughts and ideas of what you want incorporated into the service or you may feel that you need help and guidance at every step. We have extensive resources available to offer suggestions for appropriate music, readings, poems and symbolic gestures or rituals.

Your ceremony may be conducted in many different places – a chapel or cemetery is certainly not the only option. Home or at some other place that is special to you and your loved ones memory, could be perfect for your farewell. [Please check with your Funeral Director as some limitations may apply to public locations].

Celebrants can be engaged directly by a family, or by appointment through a Funeral Director. You are under no obligation to use any celebrant selected by the Funeral Director and know that you have a choice if you prefer.

Life Tree Celebrants consider every funeral and memorial service they conduct a privilege – an opportunity to help make and create a ceremony that lives on in the memories and hearts of those left behind.

Garrison Keilor once said “They say such nice things about people at their funerals, it makes me sad to realise that I will miss mine by just a few days”
